The Key Account Manager – West, uses solution-based consultative sales skills to identify pain points in restaurant operations and leverage product offerings to solve, resulting in increased labor efficiency, reduced waste, and improved food quality and safety.  He/she may work remotely when not traveling for sales meetings, trade shows, or factory visits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Develop a personal relationship at strategic level with key contacts (chain restaurants [90%], foodservice providers, school districts, etc) and coordinate quarterly sales calls to update them on new items and refresh their information on core products. Maintain regular contact through email and phone.
·         Be the top resource for product applications and operational knowledge for key chain accounts and end users in Western region of North America. Travel up to 60% of time.
·         Reinforce key points on features and benefits of each product category.
·         Maintain and grow profitability through value-add solutions selling and analyze special system/project pricing with Director. 
·         Drive uniform pricing for low-volume catalog orders through dealer network.
·         Develop a sales plan to promote new and unused products to new and existing key accounts.
·         Establish annual targets for each account, segmented by product category and application.
·         Proactively navigate cross-functional internal company departments (engineering, finance, production/shipping, etc) to thrill the customer. Utilize and improve internal project process to increase broad market success and time to market.
·         Coordinate with sales, marketing, customer service and other departments to schedule, organize and conduct training sessions.
·         Provide market feedback for purposes of forecasting, promotions, programs, product development, etc.
·         Evaluate value of and attend/support trade shows (local/national) and chain conferences.
·         Support show set-up, transport samples, and demonstrate features, benefits and possible applications.
·         Performs other duties or responsibilities as requested or required
·         Coordinate rep and dealer support for key accounts, as necessary (estimated 20-30% of time)
